Internet access is a costly investment that many of us would rather not spend money on, or simply can’t afford. Luckily, there are a number of ways to access the internet without having to pay a lot of money. Discover the various ways to access the internet for free or cheap prices below.
1) Use All Free ISP or The Free Site to find an internet service provider that offers cheap or free internet access. All Free ISP is an easy way to find local cheap or free internet service providers. All you have to do to receive a list of free or affordable internet providers is type in your state, province, zip or postal code. Alternatively, TheFreeSite.com is a website dedicated to free services that has an entire section devoted to internet service providers. Some free internet options include NetZero and Juno, and some cheap options include NetZero Platinum and arcZip.
2) Share a connection with a neighbor, family member or friend. This does not mean mooching off of someone else’s network without them knowing it. If someone in your area has a secure wireless network, try to get permission to use the network from whoever runs it, and if necessary, offer them services in return. It is always worth a shot to try to get to know whoever has the strongest connection around you, because chances are they will be willing to share their internet.
3) Find a Café, restaurant, or library that provides free wireless internet. Many restaurants, libraries, and cafes provide free wireless internet service to paying customers, or, in the case of a library, those with library cards. Local libraries have computers of their own that are used to access the internet, but most library networks allow people with their own laptops to access them. Finding a local library and getting connected is easy.
4) If you prefer to do things the traditional way and have some money to spare on internet service, companies such as AT&T offer fast Dial Up internet connection for affordable prices. Prices can run as low as $15 a month in addition to an installation fee.
Though paying for internet is the easiest option for getting a consistent connection, accessing internet for free is not impossible, and if you don’t have money to spend, it can be done legally and with ease with the use of free ISPs or public networks.
